We had to add some straps to our hot water tank at the request of the appraiser of our current home. The IRS is sending my underwriter for the other house an official W2 from some years back (my wife’s employer provided only an unofficial electronic version that they themselves generated). Once that’s over, it’s smooth sailing towards our closing dates.

Oh how I just want to move in my 2 car garage — I mean, uh, house. House. Yeah that’s the ticket.

Then I can invite all my friends over:

Tomorrow’s inspection day for us. We’ll know if we’re going to follow through with the deal by this time tomorrow. It’s still a long time ‘till closing due to the sellers having to run every decision through bankruptcy court. I haven’t seen the house since we did a walk-through almost a month and a half ago and I can barely remember what it was like, so maybe I’ll hate it when I see it again.

We did a pre inspection thingie-doo-bingie on ours. As did our buyers.

I just visited the other house a minute ago, just to make sure it’s all still real.

As soon as we know this is happening, our current house will go on the market. Our trashy renters in Florida have finally effed off, so soon I can commence paying someone to fix everything that needs fixin’ so I can finally rid myself of that house, too now that the market is actually recovering there. I might be able to buy this significantly bigger and more expensive house without taking on an insanely bigger mortgage payment if this all falls together just right.

The lady across the street from us has a very comparable house that she just listed for $410k... I think she’s insane, but I really hope she gets it.

I can comfortably afford my new mortgage, but it looks like I’ll never be getting that LC500. Been living below my means and squeezing every penny for this gambit.
